Ilmington Learner Toolkit

The School Council has been busy working on our Ilmington Learner Toolkit this term. This is the toolkit of skills that we use in our learning, and we try to improve the skills that we find trickier. The School Council started by looking at the toolkit skills and they decided to upgrade them. The new words that they chose are: Enthusiasm, Polishing, Pondering, Focus, Perseverance and Friendship.

The School Council then launched a competition to design the new logos for the toolkit skills. Each year group was given a skill to design the logo for and these were shortlisted using specific criteria. The designs that were chosen were looked at by Mr Trotman and Mr Cox, who are two of our governors, and they made the final decisions.

The children who designed the winning logos were presented with a certificate and a book token by Mr Trotman in collective worship this week. Miss West will be turning the logos into new stickers that will be presented to people who are working hard to improve on the toolkit skills. The School Council will be relaunching the Ilmington Learner Toolkit in collective worship over the coming weeks, so that we all know what the skill means and how we can work to improve it.

We had some fantastic entries and everyone who entered will receive a certificate. Well done to our winners- Freddie, Archie, Carson, Bodie, Emma and Lucy.
